HOLOTRUE3D: MULTI WAVEFRONTS HOLOGRAPHIC IMAGING AND MEASUREMENTS
Holography is an unique technique for capturing and displaying 3D object or scene with an entire complex wave information. Also as the knowledge of an object wave field gives full information about an 3D object (scene), we can measure it or monitor its changes in time through digital holographic interferometry. However digital holography still can capture, process and display small amount of optical information with low space bandwidth product (SBP) when compared to classical holography. Therefore in the project we focus on achieving two main scientific goals: – to prove the possibility and providing numerical and optical tools to substantially increase spatial bandwidth product of digital holograms and
– to enable efficient and flexible (i.e. decoupling of capture and display systems) reconstruction of digital holograms with wide viewing angle.
Therefore most of our theoretical and experimental work will focus on simultaneous capture of multiple digital holograms and reconstructing them so that many optical fields are stitched and provide full amplitude-phase information about 3D (x,y,z) and 4D (x,y,z;t) objects in a wide field of view. This capability will be applied to holographic video to bring us closer to True3D image quality and in metrology to build novel active multimedia holocamera with extended metrological capability.
